L1A2 SLR (Round Fuller)
Knife bayonet for use on the L1A2 variant of the 7.62 mm. NATO caliber FN–FAL selective-fire rifle. This bayonet was also used on the 9 mm. F1 submachine gun.
L1A2 bayonets were manufactured 1957–1984 at Small Arms Factory, Lithgow, NSW. The earliest examples had the squared fuller like their British and Canadian counterparts, however L1A2 bayonets are completely devoid of any markings.
Australia changed to the unique rounded fuller in 1960. This is one of those examples.
